Hi I'm Rob

I'm a military brat who now admin's contracts for the government. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 33 have a wife and 2 kids with one on the way. In college I joined Sigma Nu fraternity were I held the offices of chaplain, alumni relations, and treasurer. I was also the president over the Interfraternal council (the governing body over fraternities at a university). I graduated with a BA in Economics & Finance and later obtained an MBA. I guess education has played a large role in my life. I have worked for small businesses, fortune 500 companies, and the federal government (currently). If you're wondering there are pros and cons to each.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, but was very hard headed. I saw the lifestyle as restrictive and didn't understand the why they were in place or have a testimony of the blessings that could be (to date many have been) received. I also didn't have a real testimony of Jesus Christ, the scriptures, or the church. I found my self torn between the teachings I was taught, wondering if they're really true and living a lifestyle more "socially acceptable". This struggle was tearing me apart emotionally and spiritually. One day I sat down and weighed the pros and cons. I looked at what I wanted my life to be in 10 years (I did this at 18). I couldn't decide. I couldn't ask my parents or friends, because I knew their opinions already. So I prayed. I let God have a say so. He did answer my prayer. He told me he loves me regardless of my decision, but I will forfeit blessings and will come to regret not obeying his teachings. So I decided to live the lifestyle and serve a mission. I haven't regretted the decision.

How I live my faith

Today I live my faith by doing my best in my assignments. I'm currently over my ward's (church units of about 300 people) finances and membership records. I have two assistant clerk to help me. Keep in mind these are non-paid positions. I have also been asked to clean the buildings, and visit other members to make sure they're well. I also live the lifestyle which I no longer see as restrictive, but an opportunity to bless my self and my family as outlined in the scriptures.
