Hi I'm Chris Norwood

I'm a proud Texan, an Aggie, a husband, a father of five, a veterinarian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Weatherford Texas in an LDS home with one older sister and 4 younger sisters. They still torment me to this day. I now have been vindicated by being blessed with 4 sons and finally a daughter. My wife/best friend are raising our children in a wonderful small town community with great schools. We live on 10 acres that we love and enjoy growing a garden, beekeeping and other outdoor activities. I developed an interest in veterinary medicine when I was about 12 years old and set a goal to become a veterinarian. It was a bumpy road for me but Heavenly Father blessed me and helped me to accomplish that goal. I practice primarily on dogs and cats. I love surgery and challenging medical cases and the people that I meet each day.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I was taught the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have learned through experience that they are true. I have learned that when I pray that my Father in Heaven truly does communicate with me through the Holy Spirit. I feel and recognize the comfort, direction, correction and promptings that give me a confidence that my Father loves and cares about me and truly has an eternal plan for me. I have learned that as I follow the direction and counsel of the prophets, both ancient and latter-day, that my life is blessed.

How I live my faith

I am blessed to live an a community with wonderful friends of many different faiths and beliefs. I live my faith by being a true friend and loving and serving with the people around me. We are very involved in our community and enjoy serving on the Park Board. In my church, I currently serve as a counselor to our Bishop. I love working with the youth and the children. I don't love all of my responabilities in the bishopric but I do feel blessed for serving. I was recently a Sunday School teacher and a Cub Master in the Cub Scout program and enjoyed both very much.
