Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in SoCal. I am a samoan Flores. Sports is my therapy, y soy Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the warm and sunny Cali weather, where i enjoyed playing sports and going to the beach to catch some sun. Although i didn't need much since I'm tan enough being half Mexican and Samoan. =] I'm a pretty laid back kind of guy, probably because i inherited the casualness traits from both ethnicities. But when it comes to school and work, i usually keep focused at what needs to be done. I love to mess around, beatbox, listen to music, watch my Angels/Ducks/Lakers dominate, and go to church. You'll usually catch me sleeping or eating a pizza, but i do both with a smile on my face. Really not much else i can think of, besides I care about people and always want to help someone when they are sad. I recently came home from serving in the Virginia Richmond Mission, and am now continuing my education at Cal State Univ Northridge to study Kinesiology. Oh, and I love my girlfriend Katy.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was a member of the church and my dad was Catholic during my time growing up. I scarcely remember going to primary when i was very young, but it was for a short time. When i was 15 years old, missionaries stopped by to see my mom and they ended up teaching me. I loved the stuff they were teaching me, but i wasn't ready to commit to going to church every Sunday. After a couple of months, they returned and asked me if i wanted to keep learning, so i agreed. I took the leap of faith and went to church every Sunday for 2 months before i was baptized on July 21st, 2007. Since then, my life has been filled with many blessings and golden opportunities to grow through my trials. I'm a member of this church because i feel with all the sincerity of my heart that it is where i belong despite the trials i had of going alone as a 16 year old. Millions of people have felt the same thing, and joined as well. The teachings make sense, and they do because they're pure truth. I've witnessed the blessings of being active in this Gospel, and that's why i decided to serve for two years to share it with others. Within these two years, my mom has reactivated after many years and my dad has joined the church, and we have been sealed as a family a month after my return.

How I live my faith

Practice what i teach, and live what i learn. There's no easier way to put it. One can never experience the fruits of a commandment or teaching unless they apply it into their own personal lives. Not to say that i do things perfectly, but i know that the Lord only asks for improvement, and that's what i strive for every day. I still have A LOT of work to do, but i know that by following the Savior I'll be alright. I strive to serve well in the church, and do what i am asked of by my leaders. The church is a church of service, an active commitment to follow the Savior by serving all of God's children.
