Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon. I have lived in Utah my whole life, but love traveling with my sister.

About Me

I love to cook, read books, and have started knitting. I work two part time jobs, but it is for the same family; one as their nanny (they have 5 kids) and the other in their locksmith shop. I graduated from the University of Utah in Biology but am not actively pursuing a job in science currently.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense that God would follow the same patterns used anciently to guide us today. Jesus Christ had 12 Apostles to lead the church and we are lead by a latter day prophet and 12 Apostles. Christ was baptized by immersion and we follow his example. Also we believe we are literal children of Heavenly Father. I have a personal relationship with God and Christ just like we have relationships with people here on Earth. Prayer is the way we personally talk to Heavenly Father and I feel is His love for me everytime I pray. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus love me on a personal level. I know our prophet and other general authorities guide and counsel us in ways that will help us live better lives physically, spiritually, monetarily, and emotionally. The Book of Mormon is true, it has doctrine that is easy to understand. Every time I read it I learn something new to make my life better and develop my relationship with God.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the presidency that serves the women in my young single adult ward. I help the women visit eachother on a monthly basis. This allows the presidency to understand the needs of the women and how we can best serve them.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is an actual person who created us. He has a body like us, but is perfect. He is immortal and loves everyone on a personal basis. We are his literal children and after we die we will return to Him. He set up a plan so we could come to earth to get a body, learn about good and evil, how to follow His guidance, and trust Him. Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by many different people, spanning over a thousand years, by people in ancient America. Many of these authors were prohpets called by God to guide and warn the people. All the different books within the Book of Mormon were condensed into the single book by Mormon, an ancient prophet during that time. Many of the truths lost in the Bible are taught in the Book of Mormon. After Christ was resurrected He appeared to the ancient people and personally taught them various gospel truths and established His church among them. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

After Christ died many truths were altered, forgotten or simply lost. The leadership of the church was killed so there was no direct pathway for God to guide the people on earth. This lead to the Apostasy, no one had revelation or the authority to guide the church and many of the truths in the Bible had been altered. The Restoration brought back the authority and truths that were originally in Christ's church. It also provided the opportunity for everyone to once again recieve blessings from Heavenly Father. God can once again reveal truths and guidance to the prophet who has the proper authority from God to guide the church. Show more Show less
