Hi I'm Sam Roberts

I'm a horse whisperer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived on a ranch and worked there all my life, training horses, herding cows, fixing fences, hauling hay, irrigating, etc. I played a lot of soccer and plan to continue to do so. I liked to read books while warming my feet by the fireplace. I went to 3 semester of college and plan to continue to do so after I finish my 2 year mission in Iowa.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this Church, but I didn't really believe in this Church until after I went through some hard times, which made me really want to know if some of the things that this Church teaches were true or not. I really liked the idea of a lot of the Church's teachings, especially their belief about families being together forever, their health standards, and that any question we have, if we take it to God we will get an answer, so I put that teaching to the test. I started to read the Book of Mormon every day, and started to pray my heart out to God, pleading to him to let me know if the Church and its teachings were true or not. And then one day while reading the Book of Mormon, the Spirit entered into my heart, and I felt a very warm, joyful feeling, and knew that the Book of Mormon was true without a doubt, and I knew that Joseph Smith really was a prophet, and that he had restored Christ's Church to the earth again today. Since then my belief in the Church and its teachings has been growing, slowly but surely every day, and has become very special to me.

How I live my faith

One way that I live my faith is that I chose to go on a two year mission, and am now serving it in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. Before went out I taught a class full of 21-29 year olds, and would visit members of the Church that hadn't been to Church for a while to try to help get them back to Church.
