Hi I'm Madisen

I'm a college student. I've visited various states & countries. I'll soon be serving in the Germany Berlin mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and I've studied at various school in various states. I just served as the ward pianist in my college singles' ward. I love to travel and have a huge list of areas throughout the world I want to see. I grew up in a small town and my family has recently taken to raising farm animals. I am big into fishing and camping, anything that gets me outdoors. I love to run and lift. I play tennis nearly every morning and occassional evenings-I love both playing and watching sports. I'm preparing to serve a mission for the Church and am humbled by the call to do so. I look forward to sharing the message of the restored gospel to others throughout the world! I have suffered the pains of sin and heartache, but I know there is peace and hope through the Atonement of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, but I have received a testimony of this gospel for myself. I have studied the Book of Mormon and words of the living prophets and I have felt and come to know for myself that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I find hope and peace in the gospel-hope in my future, hope that I will find happiness when I face struggles, and hope that I can one day return to the presence of God our Eternal Father and His son Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ truly came to this earth, ministered here, suffered the pains of the Atonement, and was crucified. I know He was resurrected-He lives! I know that through His power I can do all things. I have felt of the Lord's love in my life and I know that He knows me individually-He knows my strenghts and weaknesses, my struggles and my longings. I have felt peace through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have felt power as I study the Book of Mormon and I know it is another testament of Christ which works as one with the Bible. The Lord loves us and is mindful of our lives here on Earth. He has put in place a beautiful plan of redemption that we might return to live with Him and that we might find eternal joy and happiness. Jesus Christ is central to that plan. We have been given our agency to make decisions for ourselves and that is a great blessing and a great responsibility for each of us. I know we can receive guidance by the Holy Ghost to make wise decisions and gain knowledge and understanding. Joseph Smith restored this gospel through the power and direction of the Lord. Through that same power, he translated the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is true! Christ lives and atoned for us. Joseph Smith is a true prophet, called and led by God. The true church has been restored here on the earth and the Spirit of God can and will testify that to all who come seeking the truth. I know for myself this gospel is true and that is why I continue to follow it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every second of every day. I have served in my ward by playing the piano, teaching my peers, and have recently had the opportunity to teach youth about why I love this gospel. I have helped to organize a few events for women in my ward to gather together, discuss gospel topics, and just have fun with one another. I try to study the scriptures daily and I pray to our Heavenly Father each morning and evening. I am living my faith by preparing to serve a mission for the Church-it is challenging, but very rewarding, and I hope to be able to bring the gospel to others who want to hear its message. I try to live my faith every day by making honest and truthful decisions, speaking kind to and about others, and serving those who need help. I hope to be an example of my beliefs and I try to follow the example of Christ in my decisions and actions.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, Mormons are Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ. We both pray to God and worship in the name of Christ. We accept Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. We believe in Him and have faith that He lives! We believe Christ to be the Son of God and that He came to Earth to perform the Atonement that all men might be able to return to live with God again. He is at the head of our Church. We are founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ, the same gospel He preached and ministered while on the earth. Our faith is centered on Christ. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and the reality of His life on Earth, as well as His Atonement. Our teachings and beliefs are based on the teachings of Christ. Yes, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are Christians; the very name of our religion bears His name. Show more Show less
