Hi I'm Emily Miller

I love bike rides, golden hour, the moon, good music, and spending time with my family and friends. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My favorite time of the day is golden hour (an hour before the sun sets) when the sun turns everything in sight to a golden hue. I have a hard time being anything but happy during this beautiful time of day. I love going on bike rides around beautiful neighborhoods. My favorite places to ride are in South Pasadena with my best friend Jenny, along the boardwalk in Newport Beach with my family, and in Provo looking at the cute old homes. I love music and it's hard to say what my favorite kind of music is. I have such an eclectic taste. I just love music that makes me happy while listening! I am a student at BYU and I am studying Human Development in hopes of becoming a Child Life Specialist so that I can help children and their families during difficult times.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know my life is better for it. When I read my scriptures every day, pray with real intent, and try my best to live a Christ-like life, my life is filled with joy and peace. I attended a Christian Science middle school and a Catholic high school. It was while I attended these schools where I really received a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. At school I would learn about Jesus Christ and having good morals, but I always felt like something was missing. At school sometimes in class the girls would say that they wondered what would happen to them after they die and the teacher would tell them that they just have to exercise faith which is true, but part of something that we teach in our church is called The Plan of Salvation/Happiness where we learn that we lived with our Heavenly Father before we came to earth. We learn about our purpose in life, and what we can do to prepare to live back with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. This knowledge is the greatest reason why I am a mormon. It brings me such peace to know where I came from, why I'm here, and where I am going. I also have a testimony that this church is led by Jesus Christ. I know these things because I have prayed about them. Being a member of this church brings me happiness. :)

How I live my faith

My current calling in the singles ward is a Ward Missionary. I absolutely love it! I work alongside the full-time missionaries, helping teach lessons and contact people who are searching to learn more about how to come closer to our loving Heavenly Father. I also teach new member lessons to those who have been recently baptized into the church. I am also a visiting teacher to two great girls. It is wonderful to help serve my fellow brothers and sisters! Outside of church I try to live my faith by applying what I learn in my personal scripture studies and sunday school classes. I practice brotherly kindness and other attributes that are Christlike.

In whom should we have faith?

Emily Miller
We should have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He knows exactly what we are going through and He has shown us how to live so that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. Having faith in Christ means that we believe in His promises and know that He will take care of us as long as we put our faith in action by keeping the commandments. We trust in His will for us. We can develop our faith in Jesus Christ by daily prayer and learning more about Him through reading the scriptures. Show more Show less
