Hi I'm Colby J.

I'm a Mormon, Engineer, and like to have fun.

About Me

I love to build things. I grew up with a dad who loves to tinker with engines and mechanical things. It passed off to me and I love doing the same things. I went to college for aerospace engineering, and welding. I am currently a missionary for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. I love to listen to and make music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know its true. I know it because I have researched it. I didn't just know because I grew up with it and gain a testimony that way. I had to find it on my own. I have always been told that I am supposed to have faith in Jesus Christ. So I started with that. I thought about it and then after a while I realized that time is based off the birth of him and so then It became fact that Jesus was a real person. From there on I used clues that were left behind to find out whether the book of Mormon was true or if the bible was true. But the strongest confirmation of whether or not they were true I read them cover to cover, pondered everything and and prayed about them. The answer that I got was that It was true and because of that I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of god that restored gods church back on earth today. Because that is true it can be logically assumed that everything else is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving a full time mission for two years of my life. I do service in the community all the time because when your in the service of your fellow being, you are only in the service of your god. I am always trying to do what god asks of me, because when I do I know it is only for my benefit.

What is the priesthood?

Colby J.
It is the authority of god restored back to the earth today. The same authority John the baptist had to baptize Jesus Christ. The authority of god was lost when it was disregarded and not used righteously. When unrighteous dominion was exercised it was taken away. That is why there needed to be a restoration of not only the priesthood, but a restoration of all things. If you take a mirror and drop it, it will shatter. When you put it back together or reform it, it will never look like the original, there will be lines going through the whole thing and be distorted. In order to have the mirror look the way it originally did is to bring in a whole new mirror from the same maker of the original mirror. In this analogy the maker is God and the mirror is the priesthood or the Church Of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Colby J.
We believe that by grace we are saved! There is nothing we can do that can take away that grace except Jesus Christ. After we change for the better and are always progressing to become better we will receive that grace. If we do not show the lord that our works are good then we have no promised grace.
