Hi I'm Max Butterfield

I grew up in Saudi Arabia. I study electrical engineering and music. I'm currently a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California and also lived in Minnesota and Texas before moving to Saudi Arabia. I lived there for 9 years and got to travel around the world. I went to college for a year and studied electrical engineering and music. I loved it. Guitar is my main instrument and I have played in different bands ranging from jazz to heavy metal to ska. I also sing in bands as well as play trumpet for fun. Now I'm serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I serve in the Florida Tallahassee Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I found out for myself that the Book of Mormon is true. I grew up in a LDS home, but I had to find out for myself. I've read the Book of Mormon several times. After the first couple of times, I asked God if it was true and He told me that it is. In later readings, I felt that confirmation as I read and simply thanked God for it and all of the guidance and strength it has given me. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. My faith in the Book of Mormon has been tested many times and will continue to be, but the Book of Mormon is solid. Every question I have had has been answered through prayerful study and pondering.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through trying to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. I do my best to follow His commandments. That means a lot of things like not playing gigs on Sundays and putting in time to really study the scriptures, but I have always been blessed for my efforts. I'm currently serving as a missionary, trying to help other people find the joy and strength that I have found through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
