Hi I'm Greg Meder

I am a Husband, Father, Son, brother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Iowa and at 16 my family moved to Arizona. Life was not easy but we got by. In time things got better. After high school I started college and began to search for who I wanted to be. In my search I met someone that introduced me to the Church. After a time I agreed to be baptized, I was 19. I didn't have a perfect testimony but it was growing. After a few years I was called to serve a mission in New Jersey. I was called to serve in the New Jersey Cherry Hill Mission. I served for two years and returned home honorably. My testimony continued to grow as I served and learned. I was lucky enough to be able to attend school where I earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. I met my wife and we were married soon after. In addition to my wife's three children we started our own family right away and have so far been blessed with 2 more boys. We are back in Iowa now, I work for IBM.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it was the right thing to do. I had to be honest with myself, what I found in the Church was truth and goodness. I could not go on and feel good about myself knowing that and not joining myself to it. Life is not easy but as I loose myself in the work I find my greatest joy. I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I have been given so much by so many that I feel compelled to give back. I serve as the Young Men's President in my Ward. That means I work with all the boys ages 12 to 18. My job is to show them how to be leaders. I also serve in the Boy Scouts of America. We meet every week and also go on outings and adventures. I am also involved with the National Rifle Association. I am a trained Range Officer and Instructor. This primarily allows me to serve the Scouts. I also have chances to serve the community in this capacity. I work for IBM and try to always be an example of good.
