Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Idaho. I'm serving a full-time mission to bring people in Ecuador to Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a beautiful Idaho city with my amazing family, consisting of my parents and 4 siblings. My father is from Bolivia and my mother is from Idaho, and I love the culture this brings to my life. It has given me a love for Latin-American people. I graduated highschool in 2011, and worked a lot the summer after with a construction job, tutoring, as well as using my love for music to teach guitar. I then attended a university in Utah for a year. Although I have a passion for music and considered pursuing that in college, I chose the route of pre-medical coursework. I love biology and learning about the human body. I plan on medical school after my undergraduate work and would like to do surgery eventually. In March of 2011 I received a call from the LDS church to serve a full-time mission in Ecuador. My assignment is to bring others to Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I will serve this mission for two years, after which I will begin my second year of college in 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I was a member of the LDS faith because that is where my parents took me. As i grew up, I entered a period of my life that many enter as teenagers, during which I began to doubt everything I previously knew. I realized that I had choices and could control my own life eventually, so I wanted to figure out what I wanted. Religion was a major choice for me, so I began to seek answers for myself as many religious leaders encouraged me to do so. I was open-minded to any truth and have attended other religions' services. I find comfort in saying that my God has revealed to me through undeniable feelings that the LDS church is Christ's true church on the Earth. I am so glad I didn't take anybody's word for it, so that I know that this decision is my very own and I know for myself. As a Mormon, I love all of the truths the LDS religion teaches. The doctrines it has taught me have been a priceless and necessary part of my life, and I would not abandon my beliefs for anything

How I live my faith

I have held service positions in the LDS church since the age of twelve, starting out as a youth leader. After I moved out, I received a more extensive call, serving as a secretary in a Presidency over a group of young men aged 18-23. In March of 2011 I received a call from God to serve as a full-time missionary for His church for 2 years in the beautiful country of Ecuador! I will be leaving for that mission shortly, and will serve from July 2012 to July 2014.
