Hi I'm Jon

I was born and raised in North East Texas. I love to work on cars, read and do anything outdoors. A big brother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the church. My Father was a convert and my mother decends from pioneer stock. I am the oldest of four boys. I was in public school until 5th grade then spent the rest of my school years home-schooling over the road with my family. My parents drove as a team in Semi-Trucks hauling cold food products. That was how we lived for 16 years was traveling with our family 24/7 over the road going all across the counrty. I have seen and experienced a lot of things and in many places. I am 22. Born and raised in North East Texas and everywhere else lol. I love football, cars, books, and anything outdoors. I love trying new things and making new friends. Then again so does everybody.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 14 years old I can to a point in my life where I knew all about the Church but I didn't really know if it was true. I decided that if I was going to follow this Church then I was going to know, not just believe, but know that it was true. So as we all do I started reading the Book of Mormon and for the second time and I started hitting it and the Church with all of these hard questions that I had and was holding nothing back. One Day while reading the Book of Mormon something in my head clicked. All the things that I was pondering suddenly came together like 1000 puzzle pieces in one complete picture. My vision seemed to become clearer like it was bad before or something and then I felt this deep warm feeling in my chest that spread out to all my limbs. With it all I heard the smallest voice in the back of my head that was so very small but at the same time so audible say " It is true". I know without a doubt that it was the holy ghost testifying to me that the Book of Mormon was true and in turn the Church was true. And that is how I came to gain my testimony of the Church. To this day I still hit with hard questions whenever I have one. With dilligent study and prayer and seeking council from my Preisthood leaders I get the answer every time and it proves itself over and over every time. Try it for yourself. Moroni 10: 3-5

How I live my faith

Right now I am currently serving a 2 year full time mission in San Jose California. I love teaching others about the Gospel, the Church, The Book of Mormon, and the Priesthood being restored. I love meetinig new people and telling them about these things and the many ways that we live and serve our Father in Heaven. In the Church there are many callings that one can accept to serve those around them. When ye are in the service of your fellow man ye are only in the service of your God.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jon
Yes! Absolutely! The Holy Bible is sacred and precious to us and we use it to teach and learn more about the gospel and who we are and what we are to do here in this life. It contains the records of the mission and life of our Savior Jesus Christ and his teachings along with so much valuable information of the history of the Gospel from the very beginning. The testimonies of the ancient prophets are contained there in with the word of God as is was revealed to them from God himself. Show more Show less
