Hi I'm Alayna

I'm a sister, a friend, an English major, a fangirl, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Alayna. I'm a college student, recently returned from serving a mission in Barcelona, Spain. My mission was one of the most important times of my life and the friends I made and people I met will stay with me forever. It truly is an amazing experience to share something so precious and so true as the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that's what I did every day for 18 months in Spain. I have parents, three sisters, a brother, a brother-in-law, and a niece, all of whom I love absolutely. I'm an unapologetic geek. I speak in movie quotes and love a wide variety of TV/movies from Disney to Harry Potter.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and have constantly felt the power and influence of the Gospel in my everyday life. I learned the simple truths of the Gospel as a kid, and have built on them throughout my life. I have seen witnesses of Gods love for me, my family, and all the people on this Earth through experiences and blessings both great and small. I can't tell you how many times I have lost something, or struggled with something, and have been able to turn to the Lord through prayer. I know he has given me answers. I have to acknowledge God's presence in my life. That's why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a thousand tiny moments throughout the day. I live my faith when I read my scriptures morning and night, when I work on a weekly scriptural challenge to improve myself as a saint. or Skype my non-member friend. I live my faith daily by upholding my standards no matter what else the other people are doing. I have never turned down a calling, and that is one way that I live my faith. There are times when I don't think I am the best person for the job, or I don't think I can do it, but then I REMEMBER that "With the strength of the Lord, all things are possible." So then I dig right in and go forth in faith. I go to church every Sunday, I pray multiple times a day, I read my scriptures every night, and do everything I'm supposed to. But I don't do it BECAUSE I'm supposed to, I do it because I want to, and I want to be the best that I can be. I want to show my Heavenly Father that I am grateful for the sacrifice of His Son. That is why I keep the standards given to us by the Church. That is why I listen to and write notes on every General Conference session. That is why I live the law of tithing. That is why I am clean and modest of speech and temperament. That is why I always strive to be a good example. That is how I live my Faith.
