Hi I'm Rolland Akers

I'm a Veteran,I'm a WWII Combat Engineer,I'm a Korean Master Seargant,I'm a Father,I'm a Husband,I'm a Pilot,and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born Decmeber 26, 1925 in Roseville CA. I have two brothers. My first oldest brother was Bill Akers. He later died in a Veteran's hospital in Meraloma CA. My other brother Lowell Akers, was in the Philippines during WWII and was also in the Bataan Death March and was sent to the Japanese Prison Camps. He was killed due to starvation and disease. I was 18 years old and I went to Europe and served with General George Patton and was in the 16th Army Division. Later on, when I was still a young man, I stayed in thr military and joined the war in Korea where I was in charge of 226 men and my duty was to transport all the bombs that were dropped in North Korea. After the Korean War, I stayed in the military and retired a master seargant with 22 years of military service. Now I am 86 years old and live with my wonderful American Eskimo named Juno. Now I sit and think about my Tom Sawyer days of growing up in Napa California. P.S. I must say something about my father who was an officer WWI. He was awarded the silver star medal which is the fifth highest award the Nation can award for galantry in action. And that is my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because after the wars that I fought through, I have gained a stronger connection towards God. That is why I joined the only true church on the face of the Earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments and the covenant that I have made to the Lord.
