Hi I'm Carissa

I was raised in Iowa. I am a future student to BYU-Idaho. I love to dance & I am proud to be a Mormon :)

About Me

I was raised in Iowa in a single-parent home as an only child. I love both my parents equally and am thankful to have them in my life. Dancing has been my passion over the past 12 years- ballet, tap, jazz, you name it! The people there are amazing and I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. I love giving to the community and sharing my passion with them! I love to serve others! Knowing that I have helped others in a positive way is more than enough satisfaction. I plan to attend BYU-Idaho within the next year majoring in Accounting. I love my family more than anything. I enjoy spending time with them and other great friends as well. Sarcasm is a forte of mine. I try to live my life to the fullest because you never know what could happen. You only live once, that's the motto! : )

Why I am a Mormon

My entire family was born and raised in the Church. Sadly, they have all fallen away except for my great-grandparents who have set a great example to me. Once my parents fell away, I stopped attending Church. After I turned 8, on my own I decided to start listening to the missionaries. I was shortly converted afterward. I have the read the Book of Mormon several times, and each time my testimony is strengthened due to its truthfulness. Being one of the three members of the Church in my high school, it was challenging to keep my standards high. I have learned that sometimes standing up for what's right means standing alone. It is something I am willing to do because I love my Savior. I know that Jesus Christ lives. Without His atoning sacrifice we would not be able to return to live with our Father in Heaven. This is the only true Church on the Earth. I am a Latter-Day Saint because I know the gospel is true!

How I live my faith

Knowing that I am a daughter of God has surely comforted me in living my faith. I try my best to set a good example to those around me by keeping my standards high. When you let others know what your standards are, they gain respect for you and know where not to cross the line. Attending Church each Sunday is like spending time with my second family. I have the wonderful opportunity to lead the music for them. What a blessing it is to be called of the Lord! I live my faith by serving in my calling righteously so that I do not let down my Heavenly Father. He loves us and is mindful of us. Living how He wants us to be opens so many wonderful opportunities in this life!
