Hi I'm Nichole

I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time college student studying accounting. I am working my way through school full time as well. I like to stay busy and hang out with my friends. I have a special needs sister, and I look forward to special olympics and other volunteer opportunities within her programs each year. I am a recent convert to the church. I love spending quality time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up attending a nondenominational Christian church. I attended church, however I was never very actively involved or had a desire to go. I had felt the need to be baptised, and started prayerfully considering it, and it just didn't seem like the right time yet. I then was taking a business class at school, and got assigned to a group for a group project. One of the members of my group, was also a member of the church. I thought there was no way I would ever be Mormon, but asked if he could tell me more of what the church was about. After meeting and talking for a month or so, he started inviting me to all the weekly activities. We then went to scripture studies, family home evenings, and on occasion, just hung out with people who quickly became my friends. I then started meeting with the missionaries, but already knew every lesson they would teach me. I knew I was ready to be baptised. The decision was hard at first because I was scared to tell my parents, knowing they wouldn't approve. They have come around since then, and know I have made the right decision. I know that Heavenly Father loves each of us individually, and is mindful of us. I am grateful for the atonement, and knowing that Jesus Christ has felt everything I have and will go through, and will always comfort me. The scriptures and the Book of Mormon bring peace and comfort into my life. I know that this gospel is true, and it has truely blessed my life.

How I live my faith

I attend a young single adult branch where I have the opportunity to fellowship with people my age multiple times a week. We have a scripture and church history study class once a week where we get to learn more about the gospel, and the history of the church. We also have a monday night get together where we have a spiritual thought and play games or watch a movie together. I attend many of the other activities we have throughout the year. We go bowling, have movie nights, dances, play sports, and have potlocks. I am in charge of making sure that everyone is aware of all the different activities we have going on. I do my best to make sure everyone feels welcome, and we have the best turn out we can of young single adults, and encourage all of them to bring their friends. Your friends are big influences on your life, so I feel that it is important to surround yourself with good people, who you can rely on, and have fun with. I enjoy spending time with the branch, all the activities we do, and the examples each of them are as we all learn more about the gospel from one another.
