Hi I'm Krissy!

I'm from Utah. I love making music. I love to serve. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary. I will return to college to student Music Therapist and possibly a music teacher(choir or band). I have five brothers and eight nieces and nephews. I have been working as an internet technician.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this faith but I did had to choose it for myself. Several years ago, there were some big events in my family that made me question my faith and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was really true. I was invited to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover so I read when I could. It turned into daily scripture study and then I knelt down to ask Heavenly Father if it was really true. I received my answer with a strong yearning to do more of that which we have been asked to. I know it is true!

How I live my faith

I help with the music in my ward. I have the wonderful opportunity to lead the music for one of our meeting each Sunday. I also get to know specific women in my ward as I reach out to them as much as I can through the visiting teaching program.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. All Mormons are not required to serve missions. For the young men of age, 18, it is very strongly encourage and they have been asked to make it a priority but there are some who choose not to serve right at 18 for different reasons, maybe financial or spiritual. If a young man does not serve a mission, it is not frowned upon as some may think. It is strongly encouraged though. For young women, we have to be at least 19 to be able to serve a mission. There is the opportunity to serve but completely by the young woman's choice. She may feel the need to serve or that it is not the right time for her to serve a mission. When the age changed for Sisters from 21 to 19, there were many more Sisters who found the opportunity came at a "more convenient" time rather than when they may have found the person they want to marry. Missions are encouraged to all but it is not required. Show more Show less
