Hi I'm Mark E. Hall

I was raised by wonderful parents. I am currently married with five loving children. I practice law in Scottsdale. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised as a baby boomer in Henderson Nevada. My parents taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am the oldest child with three younger sisters. I was surrounded by wonderful neighbors who encouraged me and taught me life lessons. My mother was diligent in teaching us to pray and search the scriptures. We held family home evenings on a regular basis. Today, I am married to Cristall and use those teachings to raise our children. Our children are our life. I attended law school at the age of 38 and currently practice law as a second career. I enjoy being active and following BYU football. Our son Max played quarterback for BYU and we still enjoy our associations with the team. Finally, I receive the most enjoyment spending time with our three grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Mormon faith. I was active in the church throughout my teen years. At the age of 19 years, I decided to serve a full time mission. I was living in Florida with a friend at the time and it appeared that I would not serve a mission at that time. One morning after saying my prayers, the spirit of the Lord touched my heart and whispered to me that my Heavenly Father wanted me to serve a mission. I flew home to Henderson and sent in my application to serve a mission to church headquarters. I received a call to serve in British Columbia, Canada. I did not enter the mission as prepared as I should. I never read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. My wise mission president requested that I read the Book of Mormon morning and night before I started studying my missionary lessons. For three weeks I read the Book of Mormon and poured my heart out in prayer. As a result of prayer, fasting and reading the Book of Mormon, the Holy Ghost blessed me with a burning in my bosom that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son and that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth. Since this conversion, I have enjoyed several additional spiritual manifestations about the divinity of Jesus Christ, his mission and His atoning sacrifice. These experiences have enhanced my relationship with my Savior and have blessed my life as I have tried to serve my Father in Heaven as a member of his church and live my life according to his teachings and principles. I find so much peace in my life as I try to live the commandments and effectuate the atonement of Jesus Christ into my life.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to serve in several callings in the church. I was recently released as the High Priest Group leader in our ward. It was a blessing serving the High Priests and single sisters in our ward. I enjoyed teaching, performing ordinances and engaging in service projects for people in our area. I currently serve as the Stake Employment Specialist. My duties include assisting the Ward Employment Specialists with employment needs in their ward and visiting with anyone in our area about their employment needs. It is a calling that has brought peace and happiness to me as I assist others. I also help in the scouting program as a merit badge counselor for several merit badges.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Mark E. Hall
One of the blessings of having the gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth is that He set up His church with a living prophet and apostles; as He did when He organized His church when He walked the earth. The current prophet for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. He is assisted by two counselors—Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uctdorf. Together, they make up the First Presidency of the Church (much like Peter, James, and John after Christ’s death). The current Apostles are: Boyd K. Packer L. Tom Perry Russell M. Nelson Dallin H. Oaks M. Russell Ballard Richard G. Scott Robert D. Hales Jeffrey R. Holland David A. Bednar Quentin L. Cook D. Todd Christofferson Neil L. Andersen Show more Show less
