Hi I'm David

I'm from California. I love graphic design, bowling, singing and running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love everything about life. My favorite hobbies include distance running, singing in choir, listening to various genres of music, watching documentaries, the internet and designing. Music has played an important part of my life because it has brought me closer to the gospel. Going to BYU-Idaho was one of the best decisions I've made and I had a great time going to devotionals, meeting new friends, and singing in the Men's Choir. I really love listening to many artist of different genres. My favorite genres include ambient, downtempo, indie folk, indie rock and what not. In the future, I want to start my own music project and create good music. One of my favorite sports, besides running, for the longest time has been bowling! Participating in bowling leagues are fun!

Why I am a Mormon

Simply, I believe the church is true and I am able to live an optimistic life because of it. I became a member at age sixteen but have been going to church since I was born. My mother is a convert and my father is of a different faith. I wasn't able to get baptized until sixteen because my father didn't believe I was old enough to make my own decision. He originally wanted me to make my decision after the age of eighteen. After turning eight years old (the age most members get baptized) I would ask my father many times if I can get baptized but his answer would always be no. A few weeks before turning sixteen I asked my father the same question. He proceeded with the same answer but this time I felt compelled by the spirit to talk to him again. I asked him why he wouldn't let me make my own decision and he told me that he didn't believe I had enough knowledge of the scriptures. I then told him, "How many kids my age do you know wake up at 5am every morning before school to study the scriptures?" (for seminary). He didn't know how to respond and he stood silent. He then realized that I was ready to make my own decision. He allowed my sister and I to get baptized because of the courage I had to talk with him. I eventually got baptized the weekend before my birthday. It was definitely a miracle for me and the best birthday gift I could ever ask for.

How I live my faith

I love going to church and learning more about the gospel! I try my best to teach others about the gospel and explain how it blesses me daily. I love living a healthy life and can not wait to serve my mission soon. The standards we are asked to hold have really benefited me in living a cleaner and happier life. I believe that keeping the commandments really do make my life easier and enjoyable. I love the example our Savior has set for us. Humility, charity, integrity and patience are all attributes I seek in my own life to be like Jesus Christ. I find myself often seeking help from my Heavenly Father through prayer. Daily prayer and scripture study invites the spirit and bring me closer to Him.
