Hi I'm Jordon

I'm a Mormon, a history buff, gamer (video, board, and yes tabletop battle), a husband and father of two...

About Me

I grew up out West in Idaho and Utah, moved out East to get married and love it. Marriage and the East have been the best experiences for me in my life and I can't wait to see what is next. I am studying to become an Rn at HCC because I love the feeling of helping others through difficult times and looking beyond myself and the difficulties I may be experiencing. I love being a husband and father. I knew I would love my wife and children but I am very surprised at how much I love them and how that love grows each and everyday. I see that love in my wife and children's eyes and am amazed at how happy we are. It gives me a small glimpse into how my Heavenly Father and Savior see me. Interests I have, but haven't mentioned are history and gaming. To me they go hand in hand because a lot of games out there are based on history or come from our ancestors. Two great fun things that you can combine everyday. History is very spiritual for me because when I study what has happened in the past I can see the influence of our Heavenly Father. He also increases my capacity for understanding and comprehension of what I am learning about. This also applies to what I study about the human body in the nursing program. God created our bodies and in my humble opinion it is a miracle that we live and breath.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon before I am anything else. I struggled a long time with the gospel principles and how I should apply them to my life. Until one day I realized that who I am is a Child of God and that I should apply life to that principle. After that realization came to me I began to do the same with other Gospel principles. One example is the commandment love thy neighbor as ourselves. Why would I have any need to do that? I can be nice to others but that is as far as it should go, right? Then I applied the fact that I am a Child of God and that is really what I wanted to be first. My thoughts quickly turned to Why wouldn't I want to love my neighbors more than myself? What would I really lose if I put everyone else before me? A simple little change of thought, that had a drastic change on my life. Now I am not perfect and I continue to work on myself day in and day out to be that person that I want to be. I have a loving Savior who atoned for my sins to allow me to make this change and effort in my life. I am taking full advantage of it and will continue to do so until I perfect it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through trust. I trust in my Lord and Savior and know he will be there for me at all times. Though I may make mistakes and stumble. He will always be reaching his hand out towards me to pick me back up, correct me if needed, and continue to walk with me. I have trust in my fellow man, especially my family that they too desire or have the capacity to be good. That we all can help each other attain great things and happiness if we would just work towards it together. We may stray at times but ultimately we will find our way back to God, our Heavenly Father through our Savior, Jesus Christ and live eternally with Him.
