Hi I'm Kayla

I live in the South in the United States of America. I grew up on a farm. I love animals. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the South in the buckle of the Bible belt. I am a Christian. I love to write and have been published both in magazines and online. I am currently a honors college student. I love art of all kinds - photography is a big hobby of mine. I love the outdoors and if I have a choice between being inside all day or being outside I will, most likely, be outdoors. I love to cook. I have a wonderful family with my mom, dad, and sister.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I certainly wouldn't be a Mormon if I didn't believe that this Church is a true one. I have had people make fun of me for the standards the Church holds and in this day and time it is sometimes really hard to follow Him. But I have taken up Moroni's challenge in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:3-5). I have learned for myself that this Church is true. I have prayed about it and I got a testimony of this. That is why I am a Mormon, I have found out for myself that it is true. My testimony didn't come over night or after just one prayer though. It has come to me over time. I get a piece here and there. I find that when I live the Gospel that my life's problems get easier to overcome and things fall into place. My life is not perfect, but it is a happy one and that is because I place Christ at the heart of it. He is my light and because He loved me enough to give His life for me I will return the favor and give my life to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I am a follower of Christ and I want everyone to come to know Him through me. Every second of everyday I try to think: what would Jesus do? I know that sounds really repetitive (WWJD), but if I think I am about to do something that would disappoint Jesus or make Him sad I try not to do it. I imagine He is at my side everywhere I go. If I am truly being like Christ then I have no reason to regret my actions or to be ashamed. I have served multiple callings, services jobs, as a youth. The callings have helped me learn and grow as a leader. I take the attributes and talents I have learned from these callings into my daily life all of the time. I love reading the Bible, especially the New Testament. I recently finished reading it. :) I love to read the Book of Mormon too because it really helps me come to know Christ through it. It cannot replace the Bible, but it sure does support it.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. It, along with the Bible, testifies that He is the true Lord and Redeemer. Show more Show less
