Hi I'm Addyson

I love music. I share that by playing hymns and singing praises to my Lord and Savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been called to labor in the Brazil João Pessoa mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My eighteen month long journey will begin July 31, 2013. Prior to deciding to serve a mission I was going to school as a math education major, hoping to minor in music. I have revolved so much of my life around music. I have been singing since I could talk. I have also played the piano since I was eight. I love the spirit music can bring and what you can share through it. Some of my strongest testimonies have been shared through the power of music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church, with two wonderful parents who raised me and taught me the gospel. However, there came a point in my life where I had to decide for myself if this was the path I wanted to continue following. I had to gain a testimony for myself, not rely on my parent's testimonies. I studied my scriptures, prayed, went to church, lived the standards I had been taught, and I felt in my heart that this was the true church. God had restored the true gospel to the church through a young boy, Joseph Smith. Through God's help Joseph Smith organized the church that existed in Christ's time, with "apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth" (Articles of Faith 1:6). I read the Book of Mormon and I know it is a true and inspired book. I know that our living prophet today is called of God and has the authority to receive revelation and direct the entire church. I am grateful for the knowledge of have of Christ's atonement, and that through Him I can repent of my sins and return to live again with my Father in Heaven. I am grateful that through the Priesthood I can live with my family for time and all eternity, that this earth life isn't the end, but merely a speck of time in the grand scheme of things.

How I live my faith

I believe in "stand[ing] as [a] witness of God at all times and in all things, and in all places" (Mosiah 18:9). I dress modestly, covering my body because it is a sacred temple. I refrain from using foul or degrading language as to not offend the Lord or others around me. I do not drink alcohol, use tobacco products or other drugs, or drink coffee or tea. I try to keep my body clean, inside and out, because it is a precious gift given to me by my Father in Heaven. I try to share the teachings of the church with my family and friends because of the happiness and blessings it has brought to my life. As a missionary, I look forward to sharing it with all those I come across in a hope that they can accept the gospel and all the great blessings it brings.
