Hi I'm Tom

I currently live in PA. but in the past have lived in several other states in the US. I am a Hypnotherapist and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a father, a stepfather, a host father and a grandfather. I am also owned by 4 cats that allow my wife and I to live with them and take care of them. I am a Viet Nam veteran having served two combat tours in Northern I Corps. My wife and I are both therapists that have been helping people with various addiction and eating problems for over 20 years. We also work with the Church's Addiction & Recovery Program. Some of my other likes include, reading, acting, geneology, cooking, gardening, foreign languages and of course Facebook socializing and games.

Why I am a Mormon

WhenI was 18 I started my search for a church that I could believe. I was in my 30's before this happened. I was raised Lutheran, but over the years I investigated and attended Baptist, Methodist, Unitarian, Wicca and B'Hai. After talking with the Mormon missionaries for over a year I realized that this was the religion for which I had been looking. I had many questions because of the mis-information that is around about the Mormons., or more properly Latter Day Saints. If you want to find the truth, talk to a church member, visit the church and see the religion in action. It is a religion dedicated to helping people. During disasters we are usually among the first to lend assistance. During Hurricane Katrina, several years ago, we had trucks with supplies there while the official government sources were still trying to figure out what to do. The Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints is an active Church that is presided over by a real prophet of God. When the Christ's church was restored, all the pieces that had been scattered around the world and were found piecemeal in other religions were brought together in one church. Study, pray and seek you're own revelation of the truth.

How I live my faith

Over the years I have had several different roles, or callings. I would say the ones that I enjoyed the most dealt with speaking and teaching in the Sunday School program. The different jobs that we have are meant to help us grow and learn. Even tho we are Latter Day Saints, I do not profess to be perfect. I have a long way to go. Bt that is the beauty of the Chuch, it is here to help us grow, overcome obstacles, learn and eventually return to our Father in heaven. The teachings of the Church are totally scripture based and are there only to help us in this mortal lifetime. After all, Christ died for all of us, wether you accept him or not, he died so that you could have a chance to survive this mortal life and return to our Father in Heaven.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

After you have studied, prayed and received your own confirmation that what you have heard is true then you will be ready to become a member of the Church. It may take several days or several years before you receive your personal revelation about the truth of the Church. Try living your life as if you are already a Latter Day Saint. Show more Show less
