Hi I'm Cyndy

I'm a Mormon and learned about the church in 1978 shortly after one of my parents passed away.

About Me

I am married with four children. I love being creative and one of my favorite things to do is create greeting cards. I also enjoy sewing, crocheting, knitting and line dancing. I have a full-time job that keeps me very busy, but I also like being able to spend time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

This is my conversion story... I thought that I was all set with the religious choice I had made and I was even getting ready to consider becoming a member of the church I was going to at that time until a friend of mine approached me about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I had not heard of this church before and I told my friend that I was very comfortable with the church I was going to and I wasn't interested. Well, she kept on talking to me about taking the discussions and I kept putting her off by being very resistant to all the chatter. But my friend was more persistent and I finally gave in just so that I wouldn't have to listen to her anymore. To my surprise, I found that I was very interested and it felt right, almost like I knew it from a long time before. When the invitation to be baptized was presented to me I found myself accepting without hesitation. This choice has made a difference in my life and I sincerely believe that I wouldn't be where I am today if I had decided not to take the lessons and took a different path. I love how family oriented the church is and the values that are taught. The teachings of the church have helped me by making my life better and fuller and I like sharing this knowledge with others.

How I live my faith

I have three callings in my branch. I create and print out the Sunday program and the other two other callings involve teaching. One is called visiting teaching and the other is the Achievement Day Leader for the 8 to 11 year old girls. By attending the meetings every week I am able stay stronger in my faith. I am grateful for the church and what it has done for me; I believe it has made me a better person. The church is a great source of strength for me and it has made a difference in my life, especially as I continue to stay active and involved. Everyone cares about you and it is genuine, it feels like one huge happy family. As a child I didn't care one way or the other if I went to church on Sunday, but now it is different. I look forward to getting together with the other members and hearing about the gospel and partaking of sacrament. By doing this every Sunday I am able to renew the covenants I made at baptism and is an excellent way to start out my week.
