Hi I'm Kourtney

I'm a teacher. I'm a southerner. I'm a lover of sports. I'm a missionary. I'm a daughter. I'm a believer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent graduate of Brigham Young University- Idaho. My passion is teaching English and Spanish. I have been recently called to serve as a missionary in the Peru Lima Central Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been through personal trials that, without this church would not have made it. Without any question, I believe strongly that this is the true church of Christ. It is important to come unto him, ask, and he will tell you that this is his church. We are, after all, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have taught Sunday school and Relief Society. I have filled in for Seminary and Primary. In just a few short weeks, I will be set apart as a full time missionary. I go visit two women I have been assigned to at least once a month. I talk to them, get to know them, and most importantly help them with anything they need.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kourtney
The immediate answer is- no, not ALL mormons are required to serve a mission. Our prophet has asked every worthy male age 19 go and serve a two year mission. Worthy meaning he is living a good worthy life. For women, they may go at age 21, and it is not required of any of them to go. Many retired seniors, men, women, and married couples also serve missions. Missionaries serve anywhere from 18 months to 2 years. This are completely voluntary, and missionaries are not paid for the service the give. They also come from all around the world, and they serve where the church calls them, which is inspired by the Lord. While serving full-time, missionaries are official representatives of Christ.
