Hi I'm Melanie

I love life, because I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a student trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. During high school I was involved in Student government, track, music, pretty much a little bit of everything. I love to bake. I love being able to make a difference, and I know that each of us has a responsibility and opportunity to make the world around us a better place. I have recently left my schooling for a while to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love being a missionary and couldn't be happier!

Why I am a Mormon

I was so blessed to be able to come to Earth into a family that already had and lives the gospel. My parents have always been such amazing examples to me, and I trust them and look up to them. The church has always been a part of my life, but not just because my parents were members. From a very young age, I gained a testimony of this church. Every trial that I go through strengthens my testimony of this gospel. As I make mistakes and am able to change and be forgiven, my testimony and love for my Savior grows. All can be forgiven, and we can truly live with our Heavenly Father again someday. This gospel focuses on families. I know that my family can be together forever if we live worthily, all because of the restored gospel. I love my family more than anything. I am so grateful that the Lord has given His priesthood power to men on Earth, so we can be with our families forever. That, to me, is true joy. This gospel is the only true path to peace and happiness. I know this gospel is true. Being a member of this church provides strength and stability in a constantly changing world. During times of extreme sorrow, this gospel allows me to find peace. This gospel is more than just a part of my life, it is the reason for my life.

How I live my faith

This gospel is the anchor of my life. It is not just something I do on Sundays. I find strength to face the challenges of this life as I try my best to live my faith. I find that I feel peace when I am striving to be better and to do what I know is right. This gospel is all about love. The greatest example of love is our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am learning to love others more as I strive to become like my Savior. I find real strength when I start my week off with church on Sundays. I love attending church because I get to be around many wonderful people who are working to become the best they can be. We get to help one another. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve as a missionary and share the joy I feel from the gospel with others! It is truly a gospel of love.

What is faith?

Melanie
Faith is a principle of action and power. It is more than a simple belief. When we truly have faith, we are led to act. Faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, increases our love for Him and our desire to follow His plan for us. As we look over our lives, we can recognize many times when we have been blessed and guided by the Lord. As we recognize how involved He is in our lives, our faith increases. We are sent here to Earth to live by faith. As we follow our Heavenly Father's commandments, our faith increases and so does our happiness. We learn and grow as we ace according to our faith. We are supposed to live by faith here on the Earth in order for us to learn for ourselves. As we study, pray, and keep the Lord's commandments, our faith will increase. We should work each day to increase our belief by acting. Show more Show less
