Hi I'm Kiley

I grew up in New York. I help at food pantries and other forms of service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently enrolled in school as a Child Development major. I love children and learning about how they think and how they work. I'm hoping to go into a field of child therapy, of course putting my own family at the forefront. I plan on using my degree if something happens to my husband when I am married. I want to raise a family and stay home and play with and teach my children. I enjoy music a lot. I play three different instruments, which are the piano, the violin, and the flute. I also sing. I also listen to a lot of different types of music. I also love to read. Right now, I am reading the Time Machine by H.G. Wells. I like to be around my friends and family and socialize with them. I also like to write, it brings me great joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. I've always had a knowledge of it and have always to an extent loved it. Recently, however, I have truly had a conversion due to some trials in my life. The knowledge and clarity that the Gospel gives to my life is truly a testament to me that this church is the true church upon the earth today. I have always loved reading my scriptures and it has helped me so much in my life with the questions that I have in my life. I know that I can always find comfort in prayer and scripture study. Not just the Bible, but the Book of Mormon as well. The things that the Gospel teaches is truly amazing and makes the most sense out of anything that I've heard. Growing up in New York, there were not a lot of members around me and, to an extent, a lot of my friends have argued with me about what I believe. What they try to contest it with though is always unclear and more confusing than what I already know. I love the simplicity of the Gospel and the joy it brings to my life. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and that He died on the cross and went through the Atonement so that I can come back and live with Heavenly Father again. I know that the Holy Ghost has an influence in my life and that it can help guide me. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and the Joseph Smith is a prophet. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet today and that he has the ability to receive revelation. I love the Gospel and I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father. I know that I can be reunited with them again one day.

How I live my faith

I love this faith. I love that our actions are more inward than they are outward. I live my life in such a way that I will be worthy of going to the temple. I am part of an organization of women that helps others in the Church and in the community. Part of that is visiting women from my ward once a month, or more often, to see how they are doing, teach a small lesson about the Gospel and see if they need help of any kind. I help with the music in my Sunday meetings. I also help those in the community by performing service with no expectation of a reward. The good feeling I get is all the reward I need. I also enjoy working at food pantries to help those that are in need.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is central to Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation. Although we cannot control what situations we are born into, it is done for our good and provides us with valuable experience that we cannot get any other way. Show more Show less
