Hi I'm Leslie Roman

I was born in San Francisco, California. I have lived in many places, including Okinawa, Japan. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm am a single mother of 2 sons and 1 daughter. I love the outdoors, bowling, backyard bbq, beaches, and animals. I am a military veteran of the Air National Guard. I have a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to live my life to the fullest, with the Church and my faith at the foundation.

Why I am a Mormon

The story of my conversion. In short; As a newlywed couple, finding a church that both my husband and I agreed on (He being a lifetime catholic who no longer associated himself with religion, and me being in search of peace within my heart) we attended many different denominations. None seemed to be right for him. We stopped looking. One day, his supervisor gave him a Book of Mormon. He read some, then I took it over. He got another so we could both read it. I couldn't put it down. I read and prayed with all my heart. I was convinced of the divinity of The Book of Mormon by the time I had finished reading it. I had never felt the Spirit with such power. I had been to many churches, before and during my marriage. I knew with my heart that this was THE CHURCH. We began to take the missionary discussions. The elders (missionaries) were so patient and helpful. I had a pretty good grasp of the Holy Bible, but it was apparent that there was so much more to the Gospel of Christ than the Bible itself had previously shown me. With sooooo many interpretations of the Holy Bible, it was great to have a scriptural companion to the great works in the Bible. The Book of Mormon helped me to understand the Holy Bible with more clarity than ever before. It supported and strengthened my study of the Bible. I feel so blessed to belong to the Lord's Church. I feel so blessed to be led by a true prophet of God in these latter days. While the world is in turmoil and chaos, it is so comforting to know that all this shall pass. If we only believe in Jesus Christ and endure (righteously) to the end, we shall be saved in HIS kingdom. I am thankful to be a Mormon. I thank God for missionaries and members who are brave enough to share HIS beautiful message of love, forgiveness, and redemption for all.

How I live my faith

In the words of a children's hymn. "I'm trying to be like Jesus, I'm following in HIS ways, I'm trying to love as HE did, in all that I do and say. At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice but I try to listen as the still small voice whispers 'Love one another as Jesus loves you, try to show kindness in all that you do, be gentle and loving in deed and in thought' for these are the things Jesus taught. I'm trying to love my neighbor, I'm learning to serve my friends. I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again..... " This is a beautiful hymn; one that all members of HIS church (young and old alike), and all people everywhere could learn from. I currently teach the sunbeams (3 year olds) in primary. I have learned so much from these precious little ones.
