Hi I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After graduating from high school I went to university where I graduated after serving a LDS mission to Uruguay. I then married, I have 4 children and 16 grandchildren. I love cross stitching and enjoy good books, especially mysteries. I only used my specific degree for 3 years after my children were all in school. Then I worked for 20 years in the grocery business, the last 10 years as a receiving clerk for a major grocery chain. Since retiring I have served a mission to Arizona and now am going to Argentina on another mission. I love serving in the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS Church but had to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Church. Through prayer, study and service to others I came to know that its teachings are true. When you read the Book of Mormon, and understand the witness it gives of Jesus Christ you can't help but believe. Christ lived for us to show us the way to come back to Him. His way is the only way to find true happiness and lasting joy. I don't know how anyone can live through the challenges of life and not be comforted by that which He has taught us. I know that Christ lives today as a resurrected being. That He loves us and is there to guide us if we will listen to the Holy Ghost that guides us. Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. We have prophets today to whom He speaks so that we can have the guidance we need to day.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in the church though out my life: teaching, president of the children's and women's organizations, missionary and in music. I visit other women in the church on a monthly basis to see how they are doing. I helped in canning assignments, where we can food for others in need. I have helped women clean their homes in time of need or when moving. I have taken food to the sick and those who have lost loved ones.
