Hi I'm Patrick

I'm a Store Manager. I'm a husband and an uncle. I'm unique. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've attended 4 years of college, but never got a degree. I decided to pursue a career opportunity instead. I've been able to work my way up to the Store Manager position. I was recently married on June 4th, 2011 to my wife who I've known for 8 years. I'm love to play video games (FPS, RPG) and board games. I also love music. I mainly listen to rock, but I listen to a wide variety. I used to play Magic: The Gathering and I am considering getting back into it. I'm a huge hockey fan. I love the Hershey Bears and the Washington Capitals. June thru October are the toughest months for me (because that's the off-season for hockey)

Why I am a Mormon

If it wasn't for my wife, I don't know if I'd be a Mormon today. My wife has been a member her entire life. When we started dating, she was inactive. But after awhile she started to yearn to go back to church, but was afraid to go back. One night in December, the missionaries knocked on the door and my wife made an appointment for them to come back. At the time, I thought she was completely crazy. I had no interest in joining the LDS church. But because it was so important to her, I decided to sit down and talk to the missionaries. Once. I had decided that it was going to be a once and done deal. However, before those missionaries left our house that night, they left we with a reading assignment. They asked me to read Alma 32. I thought "What the heck, why not? What do I have to lose by reading one chapter of scripture?". I had no clue that on that night in December that my life would be changed for forever. After reading that scripture, I continued to take the missionary discussions. As I did so, I started to feel the Holy Spirit, and it was a truly great feeling. That April, I was baptized. I continue to be a member of this church because I see and feel the daily blessings associated with living righteously.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I serve as the Building librarian. I'm in charge of making sure that each of the wards that meet in our building have the lesson materials that they need, as well as managing the inventory of books and videos in the library. I go out with the missionaries on occasion to meet with prospective members of the church. I do this so I can share my testimony with them and hopefully touch their lives, as those missionaries that stopped at my house in December touched mine.
