Hi I'm Maria Ellingson

I was born in Russia, I love playing tennis. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I am Maria I am a college student, I enjoying being outside playing tennis, hiking and walking. Serving others brings me joy, I love making people laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized with my family when I was young but I didn't fully gain my testimony until I went to school. I was on my own and had to make very important decisions. While at school as I prayed for the Lord's guidance in my life and my heart was softened I felt the Spirit so strongly testify to me with an answer to my questions, I knew I was in the right place I felt the Lords love for me, I knew I wanted to be part of His church. I am a Mormon because I love the Lord, I love His church and I can see the many blessings in my life that have come because I strive to live how He would want me to live. Being a member of the Lords church, being Mormon has brought so much joy into my life, blessings have poured out as I began to apply the principles the church has taught. My favorite thing about being Mormon is really everything, because it all fits together so perfectly. I know that listening to the council of the Prophet and apostles I will receive blessings because the Prophet receives revelation from God for the church. I know living a Christ centered life is the only way to be truly happy. The commandments we are given are there to protect us, and are given to us for us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I find ways I can serve others usually by making cookies or some kind of other baked goods for others and take the time to visit others or give them a call or a text. I try to share what I know about the Gospel with those around me, sometimes with complete strangers, my favorite days are days I have spent talking to friends and strangers about the church and testifying of the truth of the Gospel. I make scriptures a part of my life by reading them daily. I am always willing to help others, I am always willing to participate. I am always striving to become better whether it is in my attitude, my faith or my daily study. The daily things I do like prayer and studying the Gospel and being an example to those around me is what makes me who I am.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Maria Ellingson
Church is where we meet together, have classes take the sacrament and learn about the Gospel. The temple is literally the House of the Lord where sacred ordinances are performed, to enter the temple a recommend is required. Only those that keep the commandments and are members of the church can enter the temple. Show more Show less
