Hi I'm Debbie

MY mom came from Cuba escaping communism. My father came from Guatemala looking for a better life. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom of seven years thanks to my loving husband. My days are full of little hugs and kisses, but a lot of the time they are full of "mommy he said my hair looks funny," and 'she's chewing with her mouth open.' When I have quiet time I like to sew, read, crochet, clean house to the beat of good music like Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, or anything that will get me moving. I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to many Christian churches. Both my parents worked so my Grandmother and her sister came to lived with us. They would read scriptures and sing hymns to us six kids any chance they had. They did a great job showing us the gospel, but so much was missing. Missionaries of the church came to teach me at the age of 18. There was so much I didn't know if I could ever believe in, so the praying begun. I didn't get a answer right away, but with time I did get a feeling. (This is where I want you) was what i felt my answer was. I will never forget the feeling I felt walking into the chapel for the first time. Everything was glowing. My heart was overwhelmed with love, hope, and peace. All of the question and concerns I had suddenly didn't matter. I know that I had lots to learn and it would all come with time. Yes, it came. My testimony grew more with study, prayer, good bishops, but mostly with my visiting teacher that took the time to love me and teach me in her sweet, motherly way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the best I can. I am now 12 years into the church and loving it. I am now teaching one of the classes for the kids and helping with activity nights for the young girls. We teach them to live the gospel, honesty, follow their Heavenly Fathers plan, helping others, to honer their parents, dress modestly. We also teach them fun productive things. Like how to sew, crochet, fun hair style, anything and everything. I also live the gospel by lots of scripture study, praying and pondering. I couldn't imagine my life any other way.
