Hi I'm Carter Young

i love my family and friends i love sports and i love being a Mormon

About Me

ever since i was little i have always loved sports. i love playing football and basketball. i grew up in holladay utah. i have 2 older brothers and 1 older sister who are all married now. so yes i am the baby. i love to read and will always have something that i am reading. i have been greatly blessed in my life to have the best family and the best of friends, as well as to have been raised in the gosepl. i love life and having a good time all the time cause after all "WHATS LIFE"?

Why I am a Mormon

When i went through the hardest time in my life i always felt that there was no one who really understood or could help me with what i was going through. i begin to question whether god was there or whether he even cared. after realizing i couldnt get through this trial on my own i started to turn to god to find out if he was there if his son jesus christ suffered for my sins and if he really suffered for the pain that i felt. i begin to read from the bible and espeacially the book of mormon. to find out if jesus christ was the savior of the world. after a while of praying and reading i found my answer. in the book of mormon in the book 2nd Nephi 22:2 "for behold god is my salvation, i will trust and not be afraid for the lord jehovah (jesus) is my strength and my song and he also has become my salvation." when i read this i felt a feeling i cannot explain. it touched my heart in a way that nothing before ever had. i knew at that moment that jesus was the christ the son of god, the savior of the world. i knew he had suffered for me and that he loved me. it was through the book of mormon that i found out this wonderful truth. that throguh christ all mankind could be forgiven of there sins and come unto christ. that our heavnly father and jesus christ know us perfectly and love us perfectly as well. i am a mormon cause the holy ghost has born witness to me that this church is jesus christs church.

How I live my faith

i live my faith by trying to be the best person that i can at all times. of course i make mistakes just like anyone else. but part of being a follower of jesus christ is reconizing those mistakes and doing my best to fix them and follow the gospel that jesus christ has set up for all of us. i love reading from the scriptures and gaining insight on the ways to live. i pray for guidance everyday and i know that heavnly father answers. living my faith is trying to live like jesus did. i love the feeling of helping others, even in the simplest of ways by making some one laugh, by brightening someones day, and just being for them. i beleive that helping each other in every way that we can is one of the best ways i can show my love for the savior. the savior loves us all and i try to love as he did.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Carter Young
no all mormons are not required to serve a mission. we beleive that all men have the the choice to choose anything in this life. young men when they turn 19 have the choice to serve a mission if they so choose. young women can leave at age 21. its a choice that involves a lot of prayer and study. to devote your life for 2 full years everyday to a cause you need to beleive in that cause. not have your parents or your teacher believe in it, but you need to beleive. and the people that you see out in white shirts and ties are the young men or women in the church who have received the answer that this is what jesus christ wants them to do. whats why we serve missions is to serve jesus christ and our fellow man, to help all to come unto christ.
