Hi I'm Chasen

Grew up in the red dirt of Southern Utah, a musician, beard enthusiast, nerd, a dachshund lover, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town called Kanab in southern Utah smack dab in the desert. I am the youngest of 5. I love the outdoors, growing a good beard, my crazy little weenier dog Slinky, playing video games, nerding it up, movies and most of all music. I play guitar, bass and ukulele and plan on picking up the banjo, mandolin, and harmonica in the future. I played in a metal band, and did folk on the side solo. I love when music has passion in its playing, from heavy guitar riffs to peaceful piano, it is all good. I have been to many concerts and have enjoyed the all walks of life you meet at them and how we can all unite with music. Currently just pushing forward with life with pursuits of school and such.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church, but really wasn't sure about God for a long time. I attended church all the time with my parents, and always felt the good feelings but never tied it for a long time to that being the holy spirit. It wasn't until that I started to pull away in my high school years trying to figure it all out that I begun to realize what that good feeling was. As I got more involved with my desire to be at concerts and play music I quickly realized that the life a lot of musicians live was not what I lived, I just decided to be different and to stick to my standards I had learned in church. I still made mistakes but started to quickly realize that I enjoyed the standards I had and slowly I gained a testimony of the truth. I really loved that I could be who I was and that was okay with God, just keep the commandments and do what he expects of you. I love to be a Mormon cause not everyone I am friends with or associate with believes what I believe or sees the world as I do, but with my understanding of my Heavenly Father and our potential as his children, I accept that and try to see the good in all people and enjoy it.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith today by living what I believe. Trying to be a hearer and a doer of the word. I will never perfect at it, but I will keep trying. I hope to continue to spread the good news of Christ for the rest of my life.
