Hi I'm Suzanne Miller

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Peace and joy! I am a mother of two. Thirty years ago due to unfortunate circumstances i had to give my children up for adoption. Through guilt and shame, i also isolated myself in communications with my family. A few years ago through spiritual guidance i came to totally understand the absolute Love of God. I then started to study to become a third order Franciscan. During my postulancy i developed the courage to ask for understanding from my family with whom i was estanged. To my deep surprise they totally embraced me! The love that they showed me was amazing. It seemed like not a day had passed. One one occasion, I was speaking with my sister in law and i was telling her how i was looking to find my two daughters for years. She had suggested that i look on facebook which is a social computer media.Low and behold i located my youngest daughter! She embraced me with open arms. She also shared with me that her and her sister were adopted together. She also shared with me that she was a Mormon. I gave not too much thought to that at the moment but at my next spiritual direction meeting i asked the friar who was teaching me if he knew anything about Mormonism. He explained to me that the Book of Mormon was another testimony of Jesus Christ. "Hold on", he said, i have a copy upstairs, I will get it for you! My life has not been the same since!! I am going to go share on being a mormon in a moment but first want to share with you that i now am extremely close with my daughters! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I will never forget the day that i took my first book of mormon and opened it.Almost immediately i KNEW that this was just not any book. It was so clear to me and my spirit that it was Divinely inspired. Many years ago i had a stroke and had to learn to read over again. Oh how i totally was loving reading at this moment!! I immediately i called my daughter and told her i needed to learn more! She suggested that i contact the missionaries in my area. We got on a three way call with the missionaries on lds.org. The sisters then helped me get an appointment with my local missionaries. Upon meeting them i could not believe the warmth and love that i was feeling! They explained to me the plan of salvation, how the priesthood was restored and about ordinances. I was completely captivated and could not wait to be baptized and to receive the Holy Spirit! My life has not been the same since :) I now realize that i was searching and waiting my entire life for this moment. There is soooo much more that i could share with you. For anyone who is seeking a fulfillment of love in their lives, i would suggest...talk to a missionary...read the book of mormon...read just the first ten pages (thats what i tell everyone...) Get ready for a life changing experience!! I love Heavenly Father, i love Jesus and am grateful for the atonement, and i love the Holy Spirit being with me always. I am grateful for the prophet Joseph Smith for his prayers and seeking. I am grateful for his tranlating the book of mormon and restoring the priesthood. I say these things through Jesus Christ. Amen

How I live my faith

I live my faith simply. I love my Heavenly Father and seek to please Him always and obey His commandments. I remember a time when obeying was a chore...now it a sincere desire!! I enjoy my time visiting teaching other sisters in the church and spending time with other church members...who actually "feel" like family to me. I also try to be involved in my community. In being a member i have personally learnt to let go of "ego" and have developed the desire for "service to others". What a joyous feeling it gives me :) Even in a simple way as picking up litter on my city block, or sharing a smile with a neighbor, however i am prompted at the moment. I have found that when something needs to be done, either at church or in community, that today i have the forbearing to initiate whatever needs to been done. For this i am grateful! My joy is always in giving....that is one of the gifts that i have received as a member of this church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
