Hi I'm Kestin!

I am currently serving as a full time missionary in the Missouri St. Louis mission!

About Me

I never thought of serving a mission growing up. Coming from a part member, less active family I didn't know many things about the church including women being able to serve missions. The church was never a big part of my life. I was baptized at 8 years old and went to one summer of girls camp and that was all. I always knew the basics of it and I knew I wanted to be married in the temple someday. When I was about 19 I knew I needed to make changes in my life. There was something missing and I always knew it was the church but never admitted it because that meant change and I was afraid of change. Finally after a lot of encouragement from friends and family members I decided to dive in and never look back. I had to take that leap of faith and depend on Heavenly Father to help me. Through sincere prayer I was able to know He would never leave my side. The happiness the gospel has brought to my life is unable to be described in words and that is exactly why I chose to serve a mission. I understand fully now why it is called "The plan of Happiness". The plan Heavenly Father has set out for us WORKS and it is simple if we take it step by step and endure to the end with faith. The Lord is waiting to bless us and will lovingly pour out those blessings to all who are willing to keep his commandments. I am a better daughter, big sister, granddaughter and friend because of this gospel. It is true, and that is what I get to share with people for the next 18 months!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon simply because I know this is God's only true church on the Earth. I know it is the same gospel Jesus Christ had on the Earth when He was here. I know that through living this gospel I can return to live with Him and my family for eternity. I am Mormon because it brings me true happiness, the happiness that actually lasts forever.

How I live my faith

Well I have a big family so everything I do I do it with them in mind. I love my two little brothers with all of my heart and I want them to have a good example. I live my faith knowing I have a Heavenly Father watching over me that loves me personally. I absolutely love to read and study the scriptures. I find such a strength in them, especially the Book of Mormon. Being on a mission I am able to see how much a person can depend on it when they need guidance or direction. I live my faith knowing there is a life after this and that my decisions in this life determine the life I will have after this one. I try my hardest to be obedient to God's commandments and help others find the happiness I have found. That happiness can only be found by living this gospel. I never would have believed in until I actually tried it. I love reading and listening to General Conference talks. I find strength in them and know that these messages they are giving are coming straight from Heavenly Father through Prophets he has put on the Earth today. It is simple but hard to live sometimes because we as humans want to do things our own way most of the time. But through prayer we can learn what we need to do and can be comforted. I live my faith by staying positive!
