Hi I'm James

I'm a teacher by trade and a Mormon by choice.

About Me

I am first a family man and second, a Jack of Many Trades! I love to do things with my family. I also love to teach. I have been a teacher for the better part of a decade now and love working with youth. I served a mission in the Dominican Republic. All of my mission experiences helped to prepare me for meeting my eternal companion. We now have two wonderful girls and are truly blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I can't deny the feelings that I have about this church. I know that it is true. Some may say that it is because I was born into a Mormon home that I now choose to continue attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Of course that plays a small part in it. I am grateful for my parents and their choice to raise me as they did. It is because of them that I can tell my students and the other youth that I work with that you don't have to do things that put you at risk spiritually and physically. When i attend Sunday meetings or listen to missionaries or other members talk of their experiences, I feel this wonderful feeling of happiness and peace that compels me to want to be better. I am a better person because I am a Mormon and I am grateful to have a place for my children to go to learn how to be better people and know more about their Father in Heaven. I want to be with my family for ever and that is only one of the miracles that are taught in this church.

How I live my faith

I am currently a member of the governing body or Bishopric of my ward. I support and work with other Priesthood holders to bring the members of our ward closer together and closer to Heavenly Father. I also work with the youth of our ward. I am the committee chair for the scout troop in our ward. There is no greater call than one working with youth. I have had many varied opportunities to serve in the church over the years and I have always tried to accept whatever challenge that the Lord places before me. I know that when I am given a responsibility, that it comes indirectly from Heavenly Father and there are leaders in the church who prayed about my name in association with the responsibilities that I have been given. It is an incredible feeling to know that the responsiblilty that one is giv
