Hi I'm Chris

I love basketball, volleyball, & the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in California. As a youth I played basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, and football. As I grew older I started focusing more on just volleyball and basketball. I love sports and learn a lot about discipline and hard work by practicing. I became involved as a youth in the Boy Scouts of America. I have fond memories of learning basic survival skills, going on campouts, and learning from wonderful scout leaders. The church facilitates young men getting involved in the Boy Scouts of America program. At age 17 I received the Eagle Scout award - scouting's highest rank. My father taught me to enjoy life to its fullest. We spent many weekends fishing, camping, and hunting. My youth was filled with adventure, mischief, and fun. I am currently a recent graduate with a bachelors degree in business. I am living my dream as an entrepreneur and running several online eCommerce websites. I am married and have a 6 month old baby boy. My wife and I just can't get enough of our wonderful son.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up where members of the Mormon church were not common. Although, where I lived I was fortunate to have many friends that shared similar values. I love being a Mormon. My faith brings me hope and motivation when times get tough. The doctrine of Jesus Christ is a doctrine that instills hope. It is inevitable that at some point in our lives we may experience tragedy. Whether it is death, suffering, or hundreds of different things, all of us experience at least some tragedy. I have known many people who have asked, why do bad things happen to good people? What a difficult question... and I don't know all the answers. But I'm a Mormon because I have prayed to God and He answered me. Knowing that He is there gives me faith in Him and His gospel. Knowing He cares and has provided guidance through scriptures and prophets proves that He is a loving God and will, in His own time, bless good people for their efforts and sacrifice. The deepest questions of the soul are answered through the doctrine of Christ. And that doctrine is found in the Mormon church.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by being a positive person. With the knowledge of a Gospel of hope there is happiness within the grasp of all. That is reason to be positive. I spend time each week working with other men providing service, teaching, and building a brotherhood that can help others in time of need. We are all trying to be good husbands, fathers, and friends to those around us. We meet together to discuss ways we can be better. And then we go and try and be better each week. I try and visit the homes of people in my neighborhood and members of my church. We make sure they are taken care of with employment, finances, spirituality, and offer to help them with things they might need. My wife and I often try and take treats to neighbors and invite people over for dinner to get to know them better. Everyone has a story and valuable lessons to be learned from their experiences. I try and spend time on my own reading from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. They give me direction in my life. I learn things about how to carry out my business, how to be a responsible father to my family, and how to be a good neighbor from these scriptures.
