Hi I'm Allan

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Blue Knob, Pennsylvania as did my father, grandfather and great grandfather.

About Me

I am 63 years old. My wife and I have been married for 41 years, we have two children, a daughter and a son, one grandson and a granddaughter. We owned and operated a restaurant for nearly 20 years. I joined the church in 2008 and now we are semi retired. I enjoy gardening and we raise and preserve alot of our own vegetables. I make custom benchrest rifles and enjoy shooting them in competition.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the Book of Mormon in 2008 and I read it through twice, I acutally received the book 12 years earlier, but never read it. I was looking for the reason why some people were against the Mormon faith. What I found instead was a testiment that Jesus Christ was and is the Saviour of the World! After I read the book I prayed, as instructed, in the book of Moroni and received a strong witness that the Book of Mormon is true and the gospel of Jesus Christ is real.

How I live my faith

I have found great satisfaction in helping others, visiting the sick of our church and others in our community. I have also found a great blessing in doing the work I am called upon to do. I work in our church's Family History Center, helping others find their ancestors. I attend church services regularly, read the scriptures daily and pray for guidance from Heavenly Father.
