Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in California and love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a civil engineering student at Utah State University. I love virtually all outdoor activities from sports, to hiking, and outdoor labor. In addition to playing sports, I also enjoy officiating them. I also enjoy reading fantasy novels and playing board games with my cousins.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the understanding and peace that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ brings me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has the fulness of Christ's gospel that cannot be found anywhere else. I have read the Book of Mormon over a dozen times and know that it's true because of the spirit that I feel as I read and ponder its teachings. The Book of Mormon adds gives me another witness in addition to the Bible of the divinity of Christ. I grew up in a home where my parents taught and raised me in accordance with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am extremely grateful for the doctrine of eternal families, that I can live with my family forever. The restored gospel adds deeper meaning to my life and greater perspective.

How I live my faith

For me, religion is not just a Sunday thing, but a way of life. My hope and desire is that those who do and do not know me nevertheless know that I am a Christian by the way that I live my life. I am not perfect, but I do my best to live the teachings of Jesus Christ and keep the covenants that I have made. I spent 2 years of my life after high school (before attending college), serving a mission among the people of Ukraine teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Since then, I have volunteered in the Missionary Training Center, helping prepare other missionaries to teach the gospel in the Russian language. I have held numerous teaching positions in the Church, and love the opportunities that I receive to help others learn about and strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. There are two priesthoods. The priesthood is given to all worthy male members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The priesthood is used in the performing of ordinances such as blessing the sacrament and performing baptisms. A worthy holder of the priesthood may also give blessings to the sick and afflicted. The priesthood also holds the right to preside in the Church. The priesthood enables priesthood holders to serve more powerfully in their callings and capacities to build up the kingdom of God.
