Hi I'm Kara

I'm a wife, mother of three beautiful girls, student of American Sign Language interpreting, an exercise instructor, and a Mormon.

About Me

When I was growing I knew that I would be an astronaut. No doubt about it. That is not exactly how things worked out and I am SO glad. I was married right out of high school and will be celebrating ten amazing years this winter. Things have never been easy, but the trials have always brought my family closer together.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormons so I was raised in this faith. They did not always live what they preached but I always new that they wanted the best for me and that this was the best they had to offer. As a teenager I stopped attending church and stopped behaving as a member but I never thought the church teachings were wrong, just too hard. I soon realized it was far harder to live without the church than with it. I changed my ways. I am now becoming the person I know my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I know my journey will be easier with the help of the teachings of the church, prophets and other church members.

How I live my faith

My largest calling is motherhood. It is the most precious gift I could ever hope for. Discussing eternal family and heavenly family with my daughters and seeing the light in their eyes as they understand how much they are loved is my favorite part of the day. Outside the home, I love volunteering at the local Deaf school and at my children's school. At church I teach one lesson a month in Relief Society (women's group). I learn something new about myself and our Heavenly Father's love for the women in class every time. I also have two wonderful people who come to see me every month. These are my visiting teachers. They fill in my support group and have become close friends who help and encourage me all the time.
