Hi I'm Elijah DeBroux

I'm a Martial Artist, an avid reader, a fan of punk music and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 8 children. I am studying physical therapy and public speaking, but right now I am taking a break for 2 years to serve a Mission for my Church in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico. I love to cook. I was planning on going to culinary school, but decided to study a hard science so that I would be able to have a steady income when I settle down. I still plan on going into culinary one day though. I was homeschooled, so I never got the chance to participate In team sports much, but I started Martial Arts about 6 years ago and got my Black Belt last year in Tang Su Doo Karate and then got involved in XMA (Extreme Martial Arts; weapons, tumbling, tricking, etc.) and loved it. Until l left for my Mission I was working as a Martial Arts instructor at my studio.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't have some fantastic conversion story, I was actually born into the Church and raised in the Church. But, that never made me a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I think that everyone, both Member and Non-member has to at some point decided not just to be in name, but to live as a Member of the LDS Church. I made the decision to be baptized at 8, but I feel that I make the decision to be LDS every day. I choose to be LDS every day, because I enjoy knowing there is a purpose to my life, I live an LDS life because I know I can do nothing without the help of God and in order to receive that help, I must do all in my power first to obey his word. I am Mormon because of the feeling I get every time I attend Church or read the Book of Mormon. I am Mormon because at one Church camp, I prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if the Book of Mormon was true and the witness and out pouring of love I felt from my Heavenly Father was undeniable. Because of that day I made the decision to go and serve a mission so that I could go and share this message of love and hope with all of the World. If you are reading this and have not read and prayed to know if the Book of Mormon is true. I invite you to do so now, I received my answer and I know you can too. I'm Elijah DeBroux and I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my Faith the fullest I know how, by serving a Mission in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico. Before my mission though I taught the Sunday school class for 4 and 5 year olds and served as a Home Teacher, meaning that I went and visited the homes of members in our ward that I had been asked to care and watch over.
