Hi I'm Aaron

I like to write music. I am about to serve a mission in Alaska. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Aaron. I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Alaska. I love this state and the beauty that is here, but even more so, I love the people! Kindness is a general rule around here, something that is a little less common in the rest of the US. I love this opportunity that I have to serve my Savior by bringing others closer to Him.

Why I am a Mormon

One of my favorite things about Christ's church is that it is all about your choice. Every coice that you make has a consiquence, good or bad. Many people say things like "Why does your church have so many rules?" and "how are you supposed to have fun if you don't party like the rest of us?". The commandments that God has given us are not there to hold us back, or to keep us away from having fun, but they are there for our happiness. God always blesses us for keeping His commandments. It can be hard to always keep them. By no means can I say that I keep all of the commanments all the time! But I try to do my best, and I have seen so many blessings for just trying to keep His commandments. A good freind of mine compared commandments to a kite. He said "One of our goals when flying a kite is to go as high as we can. It would seem that if we just cut the string that the kite would be able to fly higher, because the string is no longer holding it to the ground. In reality, when that string is cut, the kite falls to the ground, losing any hight that it did have with the string. Gods commandments may look like they are holding us back, but really, they help us to stay above the ground"

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do as the Savior would. There's a song called "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" that I sometimes sing in my head. I ask myself. Would I do that if He was here beside me?
