Hi I'm Kimberly

I served a mission in Italy; I love to ballroom dance. Now I'm working on my master's in social work and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of 6 kids and love being a part of a big family. I am a college student working on my master's in Social Work at BYU. I was married 9 months ago after returning from my mission to Milan, Italy. Upon my return, I re-joined the BYU International touring ballroom team which is a hobby I love. This is where my husband and I met. Now we'll get to dance together forever!

Why I am a Mormon

I feel that the purpose of this life is to learn and be happy. Being a Mormon is the best way I know how to do both of these. The gospel (teachings of Christ through the restoration of His church) has kept me safe from teenage dangers and directed my path of young adulthood. Besides these priceless blessings of being a member, I am grateful for the relationship I have develop with my Heavenly Father. I never feel alone and I know I am always loved.

How I live my faith

I was born and raised Mormon. But going to church and showing my faith that was wasn't enough. As long as I remember, I wanted to serve a mission. However, before I went, I traveled with my college ballroom team to places such as Ukraine, Western Europe, and China. While interacting with Mormons and others not of the Mormon faith, I found that my passion really was sharing the gospel. So in 2008, I left to serve a mission in Milan, Italy. Now that I am home, I try to attend the temple once a week with my husband, attend church, and my favorite, conduct the music for primary (the young kids ages 3-11) most Sundays.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Kimberly
If you're sitting at a feast with tables covered with delicious food, wouldn't you want to invite others to join you? That's the way I see Mormon missionaries. They have found a feast of delicious food for the soul and simply want to share it with others. Because it is so personal, missionaries go throughout the world to share it on a personal basis in the language of the people of that country. Besides being motivated by love and desire, they are following Christ command. Jesus taught His disciples, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations" (Matt. 28.19). And that is what missionaries do. They go out to teach all nations of the gospel as Christ asked them to. Show more Show less
