Hi I'm Melissa

Hi, I am a convert to the Church as of September 2005. I have a wonderful husband & four amazing children.....I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the church in September 2005, and ended up being very on again off again with church, I thought life was easier when I didn't have commandments telling me how I should live...I was very wrong. During one of my "on again" times, my second daughter was baptized 3 days after her 8th birthday. About 2 months after that, I was off again..until now. I have realized something amazing over the past 6 years, Commandments do not constrict me or hold me back, they FREE me. My soul is happier therefore I am happier. This time the "on again" will stick and my husband and I are going to start our work towards Temple recommends, there is nothing we both want more then to be Sealed for all time and Eternity to each other and our children. No matter how far gone you are if you are in an "off again" stage...there is hope, Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ love you no matter what, and they are always waiting for you with open arms to come back home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my mom, she was Baptized a few years before me, and I requested the Missionaries to come to see me because my mom lived 9 hours away and I really wanted to know, "what was she getting into" As soon as I met the Missionaries and spent about an hour with them, I KNEW they belonged to the True Church of Jesus Christ. My oldest daughter was the next in our family to be Baptized. Mom and my oldest were both Baptized in 2002. My younger brother was the next to become a member, in the fall of 2002, and then me in September 2005, then my husband in October 2005.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church, spending a lot of time with my children and husband watching programs about the church and or reading scripture. Praying as a family is also very important to us.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Melissa
Well, the best answer for this is to Pray, Pray sincerely asking heavenly Father in the name of his beloved son Jesus Christ if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the book of Mormon are true, IF you ask him with a pure heart with reverence, and allowing yourself to be open to the Spirit, he will tell you. His answer is most likely not going to be a voice from the Heavens yelling at you, "Yes this is true!" But more of a feeling, for me, it was a feeling of complete and utter peace and comfort. I just knew it. From that moment on, I have never doubted it. So I challenge you, seek out your local Missionaries, speak to them, and then Pray, Ponder and wait for your answer. Show more Show less
