Hi I'm Tracy Pederson Thompson

I grew up in St. Augustine, FL. I'm married in the Temple to Michael Thompson. I have 6 children. 5 girls and 1 boy .I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not that interesting. I'm a stay at home Mom. My 6 children 5 girls and 1 boy ranging in age from 20 to 6 years old. I love to sew and create. I can make almost anything. I don't like to cook. When I go to a grocery store I'm sure I look like a deer in head lights. It baffles me. I really enjoy my children in all their ages. I know some people find teenagers difficult but even in their difficulties I really enjoy them. I love to sing. Whether people love to hear me doesn't really matter:). I enjoy people. The stranger the better.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it keeps me sane. I have always known the Gospel to be true and so cannot deny it. It brings me peace. It is a constancy in a world that is ever changing. I know where I'm going and where I've been, I have a Father in Heaven who loves me. If he watches over the sparrow I know he watches over me. That I have an elder brother who died and lives for me. ME! I am important to a God in Heaven and so are those around me. He hears and answers my prayers. That when I am alone I am never truly alone. This is the most important thing I teach my children. That they can know their God and that he is with them and that when they are alone he will direct and guide them. I have a Father in heaven, his son Jesus christ died for us and the Holy Ghost manifests these things to us. Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God and so is our prophet President Thomas S. Monson. A man who speaks with God. How awesome is that?

How I live my faith

I am in the Young Womens presidency as the 1st counselor in our ward. I teach young women ages 12- 18. I recently participated in a Youth Spectacular. It is usually done with the opening of a temple but ours was built before any of us were born so the prophet said we could do one anyway. There were 5 stakes and 2 special needs groups that performed and sang over 1,000 youth. I was over the costumes for our stake. 374 costumes. We did polynesian numbers. lots of work but the youth were wonderful. It was a fabulous event and the kids were outstanding. I visit and teach a few ladies. This means visiting once a month to see how they are doing and if they need help. I usually help by cleaning and babysitting. I leave the food to other women. Saturday we had a funeral in our ward and so the women made lunch afterwards for all who went so that the family could be together and talk or quickly feed those who have to leave quickly. About 150 people. I of course again did not cook. I brought ice and helped clean and serve.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Tracy Pederson Thompson
Modesty is the beginning of chastity. If you are modest you will stay more chaste. It also keeps others from thinking inappropriate thoughts. Your dress reflects how you think of yourself.you will act how you dress The best way to reach children is to do it yourself. Show more Show less
