Hi I'm Raquel!

I'm a grateful daughter, forever a missionary, and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I'm 19 years old and on September 3, 2013 I enter the mission field in Utah Salt Lake City East Mission! I love my Heavenly Father and am so grateful for all that he has done for me! This gospel has changed my file :)

Why I am a Mormon

I need this gospel. I need the assurances and truth it brings into my life. I was always a member of the church, but when I was younger I lacked a testimony and I veered off the path. I lost my way and I became consumed by darkness that grew within me. I felt guilt, shame, and regret. I needed a second chance, I wanted to let go of the past and become a better person, and I knew I could only do that with the help of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They were the only ones that brought me comfort. When I truly applied the atonement I felt an overwhelming peace and joy flood my body and it gave me a sure testimony that the church was true, that God loved me, that the teachings of the church are there to guide us and help us find our way in this world. the gospel was consistency in life's inconstancy and that gave me a sense of peace and security. when I actually started living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I could feel myself change in a good way, and the greatest joy I had was when a applied Christ's teaching of helping others. this allowed my to leave the selfishness f my mind and bring joy to the lives of others. there has never been so much light in my life than when I am living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I have never felt so free. I know this gospel is true, because it saved my life. The teachings Jesus Christ have brought all new meaning and purpose to my life, and the possibilities are infinite.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday, whether it be with my home branch or with the young single adults. I love church activities and try to attend whenever I can! I read and pray everyday and I'm always trying to keep a positive attitude so that I will be better prepared and more willing to serve others and love. Beginning August 14th, I'm going to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah and Wyoming .. the Utah Salt Lake City East Mission! What I try to do the most is remember my Heavenly Father and the love he has for all of us and the sacrifices he and his Son Jesus Christ have made. it reminds me of how many blessings I have in my life and how much the Lord has given me and how much I am worth. By keeping his commandments and loving and serving his children, I feel like I am giving thanks for all the infinite blessings that he has given me. My agency is all that I really have that's mine, and for all the our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ have done for me, it is the best gift that I can give them in return.
