Hi I'm Brian Conary

I am a Spanish teacher, Cross Country and Track coach, husband, and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My father served in the Army for 21 years so we moved around a great deal. That helped me learn to love different kinds of people, languages, and cultures. I love learning to express myself in other languages and seeing how others view the world. I married my best friend and we have two boys with a third on the way. My youngest son is profoundly deaf. It has been beautiful learning how to communicate in different ways with him. I am very blessed to have the wife and children I have. I love sports, especially distance running. I coach Cross Country and Track at the high school where I teach Spanish. I ran in middle school, high school, and at the junior college level. I continue to compete and am sponsored by a local running specialty store. I really enjoy being active and healthy.

Why I am a Mormon

I did not grow up in this church. When I was in high school I had a friend who was a member of the church. She talked to me about eternal families and that really sparked my interest. I was invited to meet with the missionaries. The missionaries invited me to read in the Book of Mormon and to pray to know what they were teaching me was true. I read and prayed. I felt peaceful and an assurance that their message was true.God answered my prayer and let me know that it was true. When I was baptized I felt joy and the weight of sin being lifted off my shoulders. I have had many experiences in this gospel when I have felt the Holy Ghost (John 14:26) very strongly. This has confirmed to me over and over again that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's church. The gospel not only provides the blue print for me to return to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ with my family, but provides daily help. It provides an eternal perspective for confronting temporary problems. I have grown to know Jesus Christ as my Savior and Friend. I love Him and look forward to thanking him personally for his sacrifice.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus. I love and honor my wife and try to be the best father that I can be to my sons. I also have the privilege to work closely with young people as a high school teacher and in my role in leadership in the church. I love helping others grow closer to our Savior. He is real and you can feel His love when you serve others.
