Hi I'm Kyle Knudsen

I love baseball. Pretty much a baller. "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game" Great quote to live by!

About Me

I have grown up in the Gospel my whole life. In high school I played baseball, volleyball, and bowling. I have 2 older siblings. I am serving a mission in the Louisville Kentucky Spanish speaking mission from April 2012 to April 2014. Ive had the best group of friends growing up. They have helped me so much in all the decisions that I have made in my life thus far. I have friends currently serving in, Texas, California, Florida, England, Netherlands, Mozambique, Brazil, Thailand, and Philipines. They are all amazing and we have always been so close. I knew I always wanted to serve a mission. My family is the greatest blessing in my life! I am so thankful for all that they have done for me. I love having fun. Sometimes people think that Mormons cant have fun, totally FALSE!!! We just have good wholesome fun and we dont have to hide anything. Its the greatest! Because I have the standards I do, I dont have to really worry about all those other things and so I get to live life to its fullest!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in this church my whole life, but recently I have found out for myself that this church is the true church on the earth. My testimony of the Book of Mormon has been strengthened and that is what my basis is. Through reading and pondering this book my testimony of Jesus Christ, the prophet Joseph Smith, and that this church is the true church has been strengthened! This church has been an amazing blessing in my life. I cant imagine what i would do without it, me and my family has its problems just like everyone else, but we can get through it and have an eternal perspective on things! I love it so much and I am willing to do anything for it! There was a quote I once heard that went something like this, "The gospel is like the sun, not because I know that it is always there, but because with it, I see everything more clearly", or something along those lines. It really is true. The gospel really does apply to every aspect of our life. We may not think so, but when we take another look, it really does and I love it. It makes everything so much better. Yes we still have our struggles just like anyone else, but the gospel gives us so much strength to keep pushing on.

How I live my faith

I have been a leader throughout my service in the church in young mens. I am now serving a mission in Louisville Kentucky. I am dedicating 2 years of my life for this church. I am doing this because I know that it is true! I would not be doing this work if I didnt know it was true! Some people call missionaries crazy, and we kind of are. We are paying to push ourselves to our limits and teach the gospel and leave everything behind. Not a lot of people could live the schedule we do, but we want so badly for other people to have the same blessings we do, that were willing to give it our all just to find that one person who we can bless.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Kyle Knudsen
There is such an amazing purpose to this life. Its called the Plan of Salvation. We are litteral sons and daughhters of our heavenly father and we lived with him before this life. Like it says in Alma 34, the purpose of this life is to prepare to meet God. That is why we are here, to grow and gain experience, and have joy in preparation to try and be worth to live with God once more. What a marvelous plan!! Without this probationary stage, we could never become like God. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Kyle Knudsen
I absolutely love this question. It all comes down to understanding the Great Apostasy which occurred after the death of Christ and his apostles. If we can begin to understand the great Apostasy, then the Restoration just makes sense. When Christ came on the earth we all know he only established one church. He called 12 apostles to help him with this church. After Christ was crucified, the apostles continued to teach the teachings of Jesus Christ. But, the Son of God was rejected as we know, so dont you think that his apostles would be rejected also? And they were. They all eventually died. This left the world in a state of confusion. Many people had some truth, but no one with the proper authority to lead and guide the church, only the teachings of man. This is when people fell into what we now call the Great Apostasy. Many of the people wanted to know the truth, but had no where to find it. In the Bible in prophesys of this time and then the need for a restoration also. Many people were making there own churches to satisfy their needs. And as we all know. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and so he wanted his children to have the fullness of the Gospel and show them the way home. So then he called Joseph Smith to be the prophet of the restoration. And never again will the people fall into apostasy, thats why it is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints- meaning the last days before the 2nd coming. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Kyle Knudsen
The gift of the Holy Ghost is one of the greatest gifts that our Father in Heaven has given us. It is through the Holy Ghost that we can know of truth. It is the only way we know if the things the scriptures or prophets are saying are truthful. The role of the Holy Ghost is many. He is sometimes called the sanctifier, that is because it is through the Holy Ghost that we can receive a remission of our sins and feel forgiveness from our Father in Heaven. He will testify if we are truly forgiven and have taken the necessary steps of repentance. The presence of the Holy Ghost and the Gift of the Holy Ghost are different. Although you receive the same feelings, the gift of the Holy Ghost is reserved for members of the church that are worthy of his constant companionship. If we dont have the gift of the Holy Ghost we can just have short experiences, but they can be very powerful and make us want to receive this amazing gift. The Holy Ghost is also a guide. He will guide us either to where we need to be, or where we should not go. It is usually very soft and meek, that is why we have to stay clean so we can recognize those promptings. As a missionary, if I did not have this gift with me, I would not be able to do this work. As missionaries we rely on the Holy Ghost in lessons, who we need to see on a daily basis, where we need to go, what we need to say, litteraly all aspects because God already has a plan for his children, as missionaries, we just need to follow that plan.
