Hi I'm Bryan

I was born and raised in Idaho. Playing sports and being in the outdoors is what I do for fun. Se habla Español. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the forth of six kids - three boys and three girls. I am a college student majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Chemistry. I want to be a Physician. I enjoying playing sports and being outdoors. Basketball, Wake boarding, Running, and Triathlons are my favorite sports. Seeing others happy makes me happy. This is one reason why I served a two year mission in the Houston, Texas area where I taught the Gospel of Christ and did service work. I also served a week in Nicaragua doing dental and physical exams and served three months in El Salvador doing all kinds of work: Public Health, Construction, Education, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith but realized that I couldn't depend only on the knowledge and faith of my parents and older siblings. I had to know for myself. Through reading the Holy Bible and The Book of Mormon I came to understand the doctrine of Christ and feel the Spirit that what I was doing was indeed correct. While serving a two year mission in Texas my testimony of Christ and of his church on the earth grew as I witnessed people's lives improve, including my own. I have seen blessings come into my life that are the fruits living the teachings in this church. I have great health, strength, and knowledge. I feel the Holy Ghost directing my life and guiding my actions. I am happy and know that by studying the scriptures and by listening to the Prophet and Apostles I will never be lost or confused.

How I live my faith

I have participated in many ways in my church. I have organized activities for the congregation and youth groups. I am a teacher for the Scripture Classes. I participate in giving sermons to the congregation. I am currently in a congregation of young adults ages 18-30. It is nice to be around people close to my age who are going through similar experiences.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Bryan
The Bible contains a history of God's children in Old and New Testament times. It is written by Prophets, Apostles, and other people who were called of God. We believe that the Bible contains many truths and instructions that help us understand how to live our lives and how to eventually obtain salvation. One of the Articles of Faith or statements of our belief is, "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly." It is clearly seen today with all the different churches that many passages of the Bible are understood differently. This is why we say that we believe in the Bible but only if it is translated or understood correctly. We have a Prophet and Apostles on the earth today who receive revelation from God and who help us understand the Bible correctly. We also have the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ, which we study as a companion to the Bible. Show more Show less
